Our Mission
The mission of the Walt Fiegel Foundation is to carry on the legacy of Coach Walt Fiegel, recognizing the impact that he had on so many lives during his many years of teaching and coaching at East High School. The lessons learned on the field or in the classroom from Coach Fiegel had a lasting impact on hundreds of students and are lessons that many continue to use in their daily lives today.
Funds raised from the annual Walt Fiegel Golf Classic are used to present annual scholarships to high school seniors. Scholarship winners are selected from formal applications and reflect Coach Fiegel’s belief in setting goals, hard work and dedication.
The Walt Fiegel Foundation is an organized, non-profit business governed by a board of directors. The scholarship fund is administered through the Siouxland Community Foundation and donations to the Walt Fiegel Foundation can be tax-deductible by contributing directly to the Siouxland Community Foundation restricted for the Fiegel scholarship fund.
